Physical Activity Policy

Al-Madinah School – Queens believes that regular physical activity contributes to students' physical health, emotional well-being, and readiness to learn.

The school is committed to:

2. Providing quality physical education and age-appropriate activities.
3. Maintaining safe and accessible spaces and equipment for physical activity.
4. Providing staff with appropriate guidance related to student safety and physical activity.
5. Encouraging family and community involvement in activities that promote healthy lifestyles.

School administration, teachers, staff, students, and families share responsibility for creating a school environment that supports healthy movement and physical activity.

The school will periodically review its physical activity practices and make appropriate adjustments based on student needs, available resources, and school priorities.

Physical Education & Gym Policy

Al-Madinah School – Queens recognizes the importance of physical activity in supporting students' physical health, concentration, confidence, teamwork, and overall well-being.

Students are provided with opportunities to participate in age-appropriate physical education and physical activities.

Expectations

Students are expected to:

• Participate safely and respectfully in physical education activities.
• Follow all teacher and staff instructions.
• Wear appropriate clothing and footwear when required.
• Use gym and physical activity equipment appropriately.
• Demonstrate good sportsmanship.
• Respect classmates and school property.
• Inform a staff member immediately if they are injured or feel unwell.

Teachers and staff will provide appropriate supervision and will ensure that equipment and activity areas are used safely.

Students with medical restrictions or temporary injuries should provide appropriate documentation when necessary so that reasonable accommodations can be made.
